How do I contact Anglicare over Christmas and into 2023?
We’re committed to supporting our clients over the Christmas period and into the New Year.
You can contact us on our freecall phone number, 1800 243 232 and/or visit an Anglicare office in person between 9 am and 5 pm Monday through to Friday except for the following public holidays:
- Monday 26 December 2022 (Boxing Day)
- Tuesday 27 December 2022 (additional public holiday for Christmas Day)
- Monday 2 January 2023 (New Year’s Day holiday).
Please note that the Collins Street, Hobart office will close at the end of the day on Friday 23 December 2022 and re-open on Tuesday 3 January 2023.

What if I have a housing emergency?
The Housing Connect service will be available throughout this time, including on public holidays. If you have nowhere safe to sleep, please call 1800 800 588 (freecall) and an on-call Housing Specialist will respond.
What if I need help with my finances?
The National Debt Helpline (freecall 1800 007 007) is available Monday to Friday between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm except for the public holidays listed above.
What if I need support for alcohol and/or drug use?
The Anglicare Alcohol and other Drugs Helpline operates between 9 am and 5 pm on weekdays, except for public holidays. The number to ring is 1800 161 266.
What if I need support to manage my gambling behaviour?
Anglicare’s Gamblers Help service operates between 9 am and 5 pm on weekdays, except for public holidays. The number to ring is 1800 243 232. Call the National Gamblers Help Hotline after hours on 1800 858 858.
