Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Anglicare Tasmania has screening procedures at our offices and other facilities as part of important public health measures to slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).
We continue to monitor information and act on advice from the Australian Government Department of Health about this respiratory illness outbreak.
We also receive regular updates from relevant peak bodies including Aged and Community Services Australia and National Disability Services, and statements made by the Director of Public Health at the Tasmanian Department of Health
To protect the health of our community, we ask that people do not visit an Anglicare site if they:
- have been instructed to quarantine and their 14 days are not yet finished;
- are unwell, including with fever (or night sweats/chills) or respiratory symptoms e.g. shortness of breath, sore throat, cough;
- have had contact with a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19.
You can still contact Anglicare using the free call number 1800 243 232 or via the website.

There are precautions we can all take to help to slow the spread of viral illnesses. This is done by washing your hands often with soap and water, and using a tissue or elbow to cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze, then disposing of the tissue in a rubbish bin.
If you have concerns about your health, speak to a doctor or call the Public Health Hotline 1800 671 738 for advice.
