For a number of years people with disability, advocacy organisations, service providers and government have identified the absence of a strong disability voice in Tasmania as a significant gap. The implementation of NDIS and the National Disability Strategy and major changes in the provision of disability services require a disability voice which can input into policy development, service design and evaluation, quality improvement and future planning. This paper provides a platform from which to have an informed debate about strengthening the disability voice in Tasmania and what the key options and opportunities might be.
