This submission responds to proposed models for the Tasmanian Support and Accommodation Assistance Service, for people experiencing homelessness or a housing crisis. It takes the client’s perspective and promotes reform that best supports the needs of the client, focusing on themes of information, relationship with support workers, control, sufficient support, respect and access. Anglicare is concerned that none of the models presented in the review paper represents the best possible direction for improving Tasmania’s homelessness system and proposes amendments to provide a more client-centred approach.
