Submission to OTTER on Draft Tasmanian Water and Sewerage Industry Customer Service Code

Social Action and Research Centre Submission

This submission discusses issues such as disconnection, communications and financial hardship in the context of two core principles: that water and sewerage services are essential, not discretionary; and that service standards should meet the needs of the most disadvantaged first, while obviously applying to all customers, rather than meeting the needs of more affluent customers first, with some extra provisions for the needs of disadvantaged people.
