Anglicare conducted the Tasmanian Community Survey in 2005 to investigate standard of living, employment experiences and wellbeing. The key findings in relation to employment were that there were major disparities between the actual employment of Tasmanian adults and their preferred employment patterns. This included over-employment for full-time workers and under-employment for part-time workers, the vulnerabilities associated with casual employment and a substantial group who were unemployed or not in the workforce but who would have preferred to be working.
