Christmas cheer spreads far and wide
Christmas is a special time for the students who live at Anglicare’s Youth2Independence facilities. Generous donations to Anglicare’s Christmas Appeal are spreading Christmas cheer to the young people living at Trinity Hill in North Hobart, Thyne House in Launceston and Eveline House in Devonport.
Donors include our school and parish partners, local businesses and one particularly kind individual, Cynthia.
Trinity Hill in North Hobart is looking Christmassy with the arrival of two Christmas trees that have been decorated thanks to a gift voucher from Bunnings.
A partnership with Share the Dignity, now in its fourth year, provides Trinity Hill students with handbags filled to the brim with sanitary items and other toiletries. They have been complemented by general toiletry bags so that no one misses out.
A big shout-out also goes to a class of thoughtful students from The Friends’ School. They made jars filled with Christmas cookie ingredients and hot chocolate melts for Trinity residents.
Donations of food, toiletries and Christmas decorations were much appreciated by the staff at Eveline House in Devonport.
And the young people who live at Thyne House will be pleased to receive gift bags of festive food items and toiletries donated by the student community at Launceston Church Grammar School.
The gifts will be distributed at Christmas parties that will be held at each residence.
Anglicare is very grateful to everyone who has supported our Christmas Appeal this year.
