Submission on Amendments to the Children, Young People and Their Families Act 1997

This submission to the Legislative Reform Project is informed by Anglicare research on the involvement of parents in the child protection system. It advocates for a legislative framework in which parents are partners in the decisions made about the protection of their children, where there are strong advocacy supports for children and parents, increased flexibility in the duration of care and protection orders and family group conferencing provided as an alternative to court as a mechanism for decision making
